FIELD TRIPS -
Spice Garden
CEL Students Take The Spice Route!
Today (17.11.09), the entire gang of Intensive English students and class teachers, Ms Evelyn, Ms Sue Yin, Ms Wan Li and Ms Jasamine went for an educational field trip cum farewell at Spice Garden, Penang. The trip began at 9am with students scurrying into the bus and singing all the way and arriving punctually at 9.45am! Mr Joseph and Ms Beatrice were our guides for the day. The students listen attentively while the guides explained to them about the uses of the different herbs and spices found in the garden. While busy listening to their respective guides, students had to hunt for 'treasures' in the garden. The group that is able to collect all the 'treasures' listed on the work sheet will emerge as the winner. They had to collect something thorny, something non degradable, something rough, something soft etc. The winner for the day was lead by the wise Ms Sue Yin. Each won a packet of distressing tea packs that was much needed after the walk in the garden! The walk ended with a pleasant surprise... time for their pot luck! Each country contributed something for the little lunch party. We had dumplings, sandwiches, chap chae biscuites, friend vermicelli, cakes, curry puff, topped with fruits and pudding for dessert. It was a memorable trip for all and as a cliché as this may sound... the trip was fun but tiring...
