PENANG BATIK FACTORY
Penang Batik Factory
The Elementary Class of August 2009 semester enjoyed themselves immensely on a field trip to Penang Batik Factory on the 30 Sept 2009. They were taken on a tour of the factory and the process of batik making and printing was explained to them by a staff.
After that, they went to the back of the factory where they learnt the finer process of painting batik. There they had the opportunity to paint the miniature batik patterns. They happily spent more than an hour creating their own batik patterns. The patterns were left to dry and to be processed later by the factory. The students then spent ten minutes buying batik souvenirs at the gift shop for friends and family.
A week later the processed batik miniatures were sent to the college and the students were very happy to receive their own batik painting. Their paintings are proudly displayed here for all to see. Kudos to them for doing a great job!
